ISLAMABAD, 10 finalists consisting of young Pakistani students qualified for the All-Asia Final to compete other Asian teams for four spots in Asian Finale in New Delhi, India.
The team Pakistan was selected during All-Asia Business Plan Competition (AABPC) successfully concluded here on Saturday in a mega finale, held by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Islamabad Chapter.
The prestigious event had a gathering of over a hundred people in attendance with participants coming in from all over the country.
Dr. Javed R. Laghari (Chairman HEC) and several top entrepreneurs and leading professionals were the part of the panel of judges for the competition.
According to the details, four teams qualified for the All-Asia Final from Pakistan. A cash prize of Rs. 100,000 was awarded to the winning team and Rs. 50,000 each to two runner ups, by TiE Islamabad.
The winner of Asian Final will be guaranteed a spot in Rice University Business Plan Competition, loaded with prize money in excess of 1.5 million USD.
Hira Muzaffar, Exective officer TiE while talking to PPI said that TiE All-Asia Business Plan Competition was launched in Islamabad on November 23, 2011 in collaboration with HEC.
She said that teams from 25 universities across 14 cities from all over the country participated in the competition. The competition consisted of three rounds of elimination with final round having ten finalists with four teams qualifying for the Asian Finale in New Delhi, India.
Zeshan Bin Shahid, program Manager TiE said that All-Asia Business Plan Competition (AABPC), an international program designed in conjunction with the Rice University Business Plan Competition to give local entrepreneurs and graduate-level university students in Asia a real-world experience to fine tune their business plans and elevator pitches to be able to generate funding to successfully commercialize their product and launch their StartUps.
“The event gives an opportunity to Entrepreneurs, Professionals, Faculty members and Students to compete together as a team” he added.
Awards and souvenirs were distributed at the end of the competition.
