KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has assured Mrs Ismat Siddiqui, mother of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, and her sister Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui that the government would continue extending diplomatic, legal and moral support to detained Pakistani scientist in the U.S.

An official statement here on Monday said that the mother and sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui apprised the Prime Minister of the details of the decision given by a U.S. Jury against her as well as the procedure and legal system in America. The mother of Dr. Aafia thanked the Prime Minister for his personal interest in the matter and said that she has confidence in the Prime Minister regarding support for her case. She also appreciated his concerns on the issue. Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan and federal minister Dr. Farooq Sattar were also present in the meeting, the state-run news agency.
